We can't make this stuff up. Provincetown, Massachusetts schools have further clarified their condom policy to address concerns that even a first grader could get a condom. The new policy even goes further with language that allows any student to get condoms from faculty members especially if parents have said no to the school giving the students condoms:
(1) Parents are encouraged to talk to their children about issues of sexuality and the parents' values relating to sexual behavior.
(2) Condoms will be available, upon request, to Province-town students.
(3) Appropriate counseling will be provided by trained faculty to each student seeking condoms.
(4) In order to protect student privacy, no records will be maintained relating to requests for condoms.
(5) The district will not honor requests from parents that students not be allowed to receive condoms.

Editor's Note: This policy is troubling regardless of the condom issue in that it clearly encroaches on parent's rights and may cost the district a fortune in defending lawsuits.
