Well, there's another reason that school administrators need to take action on curbing teacher-student sex scandals: $1 million lawsuits by the victims of teacher-predators.  This week, the victim of Freeland High School (Bay City, Michigan) teacher Marcie Rousseau launched a $1 Million lawsuit against the school district for turning a blind eye to what had happened.  

Now that the cat is out of the bag, get ready for an avalance of victims to get their day in court.
