In a move guaranteed to ensure kids doing drugs continue doing drugs instead of participating in school programs and athletics, Franklin, Indiana school officials want to begin testing middle and high school students for drugs if they want to play sports, march in the band, join student council or drive to school. Superintendent David Clendening, who wants the policy in place by this fall makes the best argument ever for not testing: "The chance of catching them is not good, but we're trying to give them a reason not to do it."
Clendening wants to increase parking permit prices by 50% to pay for the new drug tests that by his own admission will not do much to catch student drug users. EOTD thinks that Clendening is an idiot, and the people of Franklin Indiana should run him out of town for suggesting such a pointless, expensive program.
